whg’s annual conference is a chance for every colleague to get together across two half day conference sessions, learning about the current business performance and opportunities for the year ahead.
This year whg asked Quadrant Events to help design and deliver their conference to make the sessions fun, interactive and informative.
whg wanted an interactive session that would be repeated to a different audience in the afternoon. The biggest challenge was to create a structure for the event that would be interactive, flexible and fun, and still have room to communicate a wide variety of serious business messages to the audience.
Having decided on the monopoly theme it was over to our wonderful client who really embraced this to create a design and structure that encompassed all the topical place names and conference themes required.
We worked with our consultant Robert Digings to further enhance this structure by adding interviews and the opportunity to create delegate movement within the room.
Our AV solution included a themed three screen set which gave full effect to the specialist content we created for the game. This was produced in PowerPoint 2016, using the new Morph feature to move around the ‘whg does monopoly’ board. We incorporated rolling dice at the start of each move which had been animated in After Effects and incorporated into the presentation. This all produced a seamless way of playing the game and moving through the business content.
As the game unfolded we included sound effects for the result of each move.
The whole event was masterfully facilitated by Robert Digings who brought his extensive knowledge of radio Outside Broadcast to the fore to really engage with the audience as Mr Monopoly!
