Brief
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity was planning the unveiling of their state of the art new helicopter to a group of over 100 VIP’s, Sponsors and Supporters.
This, required us to design a way of revealing a large helicopter within their purpose built air support unit at Nostell Priory, West Yorkshire, a space not designed for staging events!
Challenge
The main challenge was to install a system of trussing and drape in exactly the correct areas to section off an area of the hangar large enough to house the helicopter and also have a separate presentation area and lunch reception.
Solution
Having divided the space into two we had separate areas for the presentations and the helicopter. The reveal event included:
- Trussing and drape system.
- 15m white gauze for projecting video & lighting effects.
- Presentation area with stage, a ceremonial red reveal button, presentations displayed on the gauze and plasma screens, and a high quality PA system.
- A kabuki drop to release the gauze and reveal the helicopter.
- Lighting around and under the helicopter to create the wow factor during the reveal.
- The whole event was recorded for use in promotional material.
