Event brief
The Flying High Trust, a local school partnership based in Nottingham, wanted to create a virtual recognition/awards event with professional production, but which could be viewed in their MS Teams account by an audience of staff, teachers, parents and children. They particularly wanted the awards presenters to be live together in the room.
Our Solution
The venue for the production was the Nottingham Ice Arena, as they were also meeting for a post event celebration there afterwards.
We installed a temporary vMix studio & green screen backdrop with lighting to ensure crisp chroma keying. The camera feed was brought into vMix and overlaid onto their awards graphics. We created lower 3rd name tags and a lengthened 10 second stinger to allow presenters to walk on and off the set without the audience seeing.
Our output from Vmix was inserted into their MS Teams Live event, with the client creating the meeting and sharing with delegates … onsite we managed their laptop and the Teams Live event.
We had a peak audience of 390 watching the livestream, though with multiple people at each end point, the audience figures were nearer 1,000.
Post event we “topped and tailed” the recording and the long stinger was swapped out for a shortened version to provide more comfortable on-demand viewing.
This project is a great example of creating professional production for a virtual event which is to be viewed on a clients own meeting platform. It raises the standard of what otherwise would have been achieved, whilst maintaining easy access for the delegates, and an overall cost effective solution for the client.
